The Role

Reporting to the Risk Manager, you will be a key player in the Second Line of Defence. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Risk Identification: Monitoring and assessing potential risks across retail and business banking portfolios.

  • Data Modelling: Utilising statistical tools to evaluate financial data and provide predictive insights on market or credit volatility.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Translating complex technical risk data into practical advice for decision-makers and senior leadership.

  • Mitigation Strategy: Recommending and implementing frameworks to minimise operational vulnerabilities.

  • Project Governance: Assisting in the transition of risk reporting to advanced cloud environments.

What You’ll Bring

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, or Mathematics.

  • Experience: 3+ years in risk management or data analysis within the financial services sector.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Excel, or PowerBI. Experience with risk modelling and regulatory reporting (APRA/ASIC standards) is highly regarded.

  • Soft Skills: A community-first mindset with the ability to build strong relationships across diverse teams.

  • Curiosity: A proactive approach to identifying risks and developing effective solutions.
